I’m a fifty five year old single woman living in the middle of wheat fields in Eastern Washington. I bought a house that no one else would enter with the real estate agent. It was a mess.
I like tools. I like having the right tool for the job. I don't have a great deal of physical strength so tools and ingenuity have become very important in that case. Being able to ask for help is a lesson I've learned in this process. HOW to ask for help so that someone doesn’t end up doing the job for me, and therefore how THEY want to do it, has also been a part of that.
I have become a jack of all trades and master of some. My 33 year old daughter felt I needed to share some of the knowledge and skills I have learned throughout my life.
I have worked as a computer technician and office machine mechanic. A shipwright, a landscaper, a supervisor of men, a bookkeeper and car mechanic. I like best the jobs that require using tools and making things work.
Traveling the world and parts of this country held my attention for a few years. I learned how to cook epicurian meals in one pot, in cramped quarters, on rocking ships and dusty truck tailgates. My primary passion in life is cooking and all things food.
I also make tassels. It's one of the most grounding and creative outlets I have.
The most healing drug a person can experience is creative energy expressed. That takes me back to the house. I’m a woman who nests. Also I see it as a way to:
1. have control.
2. express my essential being in an outward manifestation that’s practical yet beautiful.
3. take something that’s broken and make it work.
4. give me, my dogs and mule a home.
No one can tell me I can’t because I’ve already proven I can.
