would you please make a special trip to the Maritimes and fix some of my non functioning lights, especially the one at the bottom of my staircase that leads upstairs...and downstairs obviously! I am pretty handy but electricity is not my forte!
Thanks!
Linda
Now Linda, it sounds like all you need is a flat blade screwdriver and a little volt meter. Once you know if you have power then whalla..you can decide what to do. Are you sure it isn't just needing a new light bulb? Of course a trip to the Maritimes might just be in order anyway.

Excellent. Sisters are doing it for themselves. I used to, before I got sick. I was the first female member of the British Decorators Association (a trade organisation for painters and decorators). Taught my son how to use a saw. Although I can't do it myself any more, I can, at least, ensure that no tradesperson tries to rip me off with shoddy work because I know how it ought to be done. Keep up the good work Niki!
Thank you so much. It's really very empowering.

That is an awesome dream! Hubby and I have one area all planned for a pergola some day! It is off a few years as we still have so many other tackles to be done.

What I like is that you are doing the work and don't feel fear of the tools you have to use. I am so like that. I want it done and no one around to help I learn how to do what needs to be done and I do it!

High five and I love Matt's happy dance!

Oh for goodness' sake Niki, be careful! You need strength to control those things. I remember hearing screams from over the fence years ago, when a neighbour's chain saw bounced off a chuck of wood and into him. He was lucky to get away with a few stitches.

It's not about whether it's a man's job or a woman's job. Wears me out just thinking about it!

Women just don't have the upper body strength for the most part. I think that men are useful to have around in such cases. Bless their hearts.

Wow! I need to get every space in my entire house organized. Not to mention the porch, garage, barn and shed. The basement has reached the point of no return. Remember the Collyer brothers? The only place that's neat is the calving barn - since I haven't had the time to start putting things in there. If I had a bigger place, I'm sure that I'd fill it with more stuff. Why do all my interests & hobbies generate more paper & clutter?

You can always make a day of it with a friend to tackle the worst of it together. Treat yourselves to a nice lunch at the end. Laugh. We can all use a good laugh.

You're an inspiration. Maybe it would help if I walked away from the computer!
